Eddie receiving some love from Altenheim resident, Mary.
Remembering a loved one...
At one time or another, we have all experienced the grief of losing a loved one, whether human or fur-baby. We often are at a loss and desire a way to do something to honor their memory. Flowers are nice, but they only last a few days. A plant or tree is nice as well, but are you sure the recipient wants the responsibility of its care? Next time you find yourself in this situation, consider making a tax-deductible donation to "Pet Love, Inc." in memory of your loved one and know that your support allows us to continue sharing our pets love with others in need.

When doing Pet Therapy visits, we aren't always visiting strangers. Phoebe and her parents recently took a trip south and visited with family they hadn't seen in years. Aunt Anna and cousins Cassie and Hunter welcomed Phoebe's presence, she even makes a good pillow.

Phoebe and her handler, Kim, love visiting the girls at Maryhurst. Phoebe often rolls over and presents her belly for rubs.
And meet Brisco. He is our newest member in training to be a therapy pet. He's a six month old Great Dane pup. He starts his official schooling in January, wish him luck!!
On a recent visit to The Episcopal Church Home during the Christmas holiday, our friend Mia accompanied us to hand out candy canes to the residents. Phoebe and Mia paused for a photo by the Christmas Tree.

Adventure Camp 09-20-2012
The weather Thursday was much nicer, the number of campers was much greater, and the fun had was great as usual! :)
If anybody has photos they took while at Adventure Camp they would like to have posted, email them to: petloveinc@yahoo.com
Mornings are so peaceful and the sun is so beautiful coming up over the lake. It's worth being there just to watch it rise and enjoy a cup of coffee before things get busy.Wednesday, September 19, 2012
Adventure Camp 09-18-2012
It's fall, so that must mean it's time for Adventure Camp!!
Pet Love members, both 2- 4-legged are in attendance (or scheduled to be) everyday of the event.
In attendance Tuesday were: Kim & Phoebe, Pam & Tori, Cathy & Sadie
Sadie says: Mmmm, that banana pudding was good stuff!
This is Phoebe with Alayne, one of the faithful camp volunteers.
Despite the overcast sky and cool temperatures, it's still a beautiful place to visit.
Another of the faithful voluteers.

Sadie & Cathy
Therapy Dog In Training (Sadie)
invited to come into a home to let two children read to her.
Article Submitted by: Cathy Tomes
Sadie and I want to thank these two wonderful children, Tony Bayton (age 8), and Savannah Bayton, (age 5) who attend Pleasant Grove Elementary School. They had a part in helping Sadie be a good listener, as well as Sadie helping Tony and Savannah want to read more. As Sadie and I would walk up to their house, we could hear them say in an excited voice –
“Reading time”!
I can now say with joy Sadie is no longer in training. She is now a certified therapy dog for
Pet Love, Inc. She can be a help to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, libraries and so much more.
I would also like to thank Sharon Ball, Sharon Gretsinger, and Emma Wallace, her trainers, who had faith in her.

Welcome Eddie & Susan!!
Welcome two of our newest Pet Love members, Susan and her fur-baby Eddie!!
Eddie's story, as told by Susan:
Eddie's story, as told by Susan:
Eddie joined my household as a foster in April 2011. I really had no intention on adopting him, as I was still very much grieving over a pet therapy dog that crossed the rainbow bridge a few weeks before. However, as time went on he gradually wormed his way into my heart and my bed. Needless to say, I became known as the “failed foster Mom.” I could see that he had the potential to be a pet therapy dog and proceeded with the process of training. He earned his CGC award this past April and shortly there after became a member of Pet Love, Inc. He is gentle and caring and enjoys his visits to the nursing home…where he gets in many beds and offers sweet and tender kisses. Thanks to Emma for allowing Eddie and I to be a member of your group and mission.
